does anyone know how to make a simple home made kissable lip gloss(red or pink in colour)....
please can you give me recipes and how to make it?
please dont give useless answers like "go buy it" or anything... I'm afraid to use commercial lip gloss cos I've heared the ingredients in it darkens the lips....
I'm tryin to meet my guy next week... we've been in a long distance serious relationship.. and its almost 2 years now and we only met once... this time we meet we are planning to french kiss....thats why i need a good home remedy for luscious lip gloss than i can wear while kissing him....
I have made homemade lip gloss before but it was a kit I bought. I can't remember where from (arts and crafts store like Michael's or Rag Shop or the like) but here are some other suggestions:
Also, you can use Vaseline as it is just clear petroleum jelly and will not darken your lips but will make them soft and shiny. :)
You can eat an red ice bar. Rub them over your lips. Your lips will be nice and red. Why? Because after you kiss your boyfriend the lip gloss will probably come off whereas with lip stains your color will stay on! Also, Revlon sells Just Bitten lip stains which are great: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
There are a lot of recipes online:
NOTE: Remember to check for allergies on all items used before making anything.
Chocolate Lip Gloss
3 tablespoons cocoa butter
4 or 5 chocolate chips
1 capsule vitamin E
Melt all ingredients in a double boiler, and then blend with a spoon until the mixture is very smooth. Put into a container and refrigerate until solid.
Cranberry Lip Gloss
1 tablespoon almond oil
10 fresh cranberries
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon petroleum jelly (optional - for more shine)
Mix all the ingredients and then place them in a microwave or heat-resistant container. Heat in the microwave or a water bath until the mixture just begins to boil (1-2 minutes in the microwave). Stir well and gently mash the berries. Let the mixture stand for at least 5 minutes.
Strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove all pieces of cranberry. Stir and allow to cool completely. When cool, spoon into a clean container.
Place the beeswax, coconut oil and vitamin E oil in an ovenproof container. Heat gently until the wax and oils are melted. Stir in the vanilla extract and mix well. Pour the mixture into a clean container and allow to cool completely before using.
This is a fun and easy recipe!! Who would have known that Kool-Aid makes great lip-gloss?
Lip Gloss
2 tablespoons solid shortening (Crisco),
1 tablespoon Kool-Aid drink mix of your choice (powdered, with sugar already added)
Create the base
Experiment with the following ingredients to come up with a consistency you like. Melt a combined amount of 2 tablespoons for each lip gloss container using any of the following ingredients:
Select container
Containers can be purchased at craft or beauty supply stores. Alternative containers include 35 mm film containers, contact lense cases, empty eye shadow boxes, pillboxes (recommended when making many different lip glosses), or small spice jars. All containers should be sterilized before use.
Mix
Put all ingredients in a plastic bag or microwave safe bowl. Place bag in warm water until contents have melted and mixed thoroughly. Microwave ingredients for 30 seconds, stir. Snip corner of bag and squeeze contents into container. Pour contents of microwave safe bowl into selected container. Allow lip gloss to cool for 20 minutes. Refrigerate.
Instead of using beeswax, use Vaseline.
Get the original Vaseline. Any specialty Vaseline has things that you may be allergic to. For example, Vaseline baby. CVS brand also is known for allergic reactions.
Get the amount of Vaseline that you want to turn into lip gloss. It doesn't matter how much Vaseline you use, it just depends on how much lip gloss that you want to make.
Go to your local grocery store and pick out a Kool Aid packet, but when you do judge two things: flavoring and color.
For the flavoring, you won't exactly be eating it, but just in case you lick your lips you won't be tasting the Vaseline.
For coloring don't pick blue-raspberry because your lips will be blue. Your best bet is Kool Aid that is invisible, but still has flavoring.
For color, (if the kool Aid does not have any color, and you would like your lip gloss to be colored) chop off a small piece of lip stick, and mix with your Kool Aid/Vaseline mixture.
