When i was little, [before school, and maybe around kindergarten and first], i used to be like Best friends with this guy named "Bob" okay. Well me and "Bob" lost communication after that, grew up, and now realize that we were like best friends. "Bob" is really nice, he is a sweetheart <3. Well I really like "Bob" now, I only told really really close friends [like only 3 or 4 ppl] I knew i could trust these people. Well today my school had a basketball game, and it turns out that one of "Bob's" friends were there. One of my best friends that I had told thot that she would be helping by telling his friend that i like him. Well.. It just so happens... he has one of the biggest mouths that is in my school, he yelled it out at the game, and now im afraid he will tell him. I wanted my friend "Susie" to talk to him, she said she would tomorrow, but now im afraid to get her to talk to him bc im afraid he will kno the truth, and kno somethin's up.. ya know? well i dunno what to do.. its all complicated. for all i know, he may feel the same he just didnt want to say anything or he may think im just like weird and never talk to me again, idk. what would you do?

Well, I've been through this before, thats for sure. Basically from about fifth grade until the end of highschool life revolves around the gossip mill. What you need to remember is, if you're going to tell anyone anything, even if they are your best friend, keep in mind that the person it is about will find out. I know it was a mistake, but its one you can learn from. If you tell anyone, its not a secret anymore.
As far as this situation, tell suzie not to talk to him. The less people you involve in the this, the better the situation will turn out. I would pretend that it isnt happening, and deal with each issue as it comes up. Ie; the entire class is talking about it, shrug it off, and act casual about it, you can be mature about liking someone, and they can learn from that. another example, he finds out; well you ignore it until he aproaches you. If he tells you that he likes you back, then you go with it, if he says that he just wants to be your friend, tell him you can deal with it.
There are two ways to approach situations like this, the way that you did, the one where every actions goes through friends, and theres the one where you stand up and talk to him yourself. You will find that over time you will switch the the second option gradually. You'll notice that having your friends do the dirty work usually complicates things (like in this situation).
Just remember that you will get through this, and think positively, and figure out what mistakes you made and try and fix them for the next time you like a guy. Good luck, and I hope you found my advice useful, let me know if you need anything else.
Love ya,

yourrtrustyhelpline answered Friday January 25 2008, 12:57 am: well, theres really nothing you can do. just let everything play out. if he likes you, then great, maybe you guys are meant to be. if he doesnt, then he doesnt, so just move the hell on. life isnt worth living without the risks, and nobody said everything would turn out perfectly, they just said itd be worth it. and besides, think of it this way, if he does find out and then lets you know how he feels, you wont have to wonder what wouldve, couldve, or shouldve happened with him later on in life.
