I don't know what to do about everything I eat...

Question Posted Friday January 18 2008, 1:53 pm

Please help me, I'm always hungry, I can't stop eating. I don't know what to do, because I know that I'm going to gain weight and I really don't want to..How can I distract myself from eating so much to prevent me from gaining tons of unnecessary weight.
Please help if you can, if not, thanks anyways!

Thanks for your question.
You should eat foods that fill you up and are good for you.
Also, if you must snack, make it a healthy option: Nuts, fruit, yoghurt, or those with 0 calories, such as celery.
Throughout your day, drink water. Most of the time when you think you're hungry, you're infact thirsty. So drinking your 8 glasses of water a day (if you don't already) is sure to help.
Chewing gum/sucking on a mint can also help trick your mind into thinking you're eating. So if you feel hungry, pop one in your mouth and see if it does the trick.
Eat slower, so it gives your body time to realize when you are full. (it apparently takes 20 minutes for your stomach to tell your brain)
Having commitments will help take your mind off food, so try to make yourself busy.
I hope some of these work for you.
