Dorm Rooms

Question Posted Tuesday January 15 2008, 6:22 pm

In one of the colleges I'm interested in, it says no electrical appliances. You're allowed to have a small refridgerator, so I'm assuming they mean heaters, toasters, etc. I know every college is different, but generally, are you allowed to bring hair dryers and hair straighteners?? Can you use them in your room or do some dorms require you to only use them in the common bathroom?? Any ideas or experiences?? Thanks!!

Hair dryers are a pain because they're loud, but yeah, you can bring them.

They mean no toasters, heaters, microwaves, blenders, electric blankets, etc.

You can have a computer, hair stuff, lights, a refrigerator, and stuff like that.

theres no way they can let you use your hair stuff. your probably just not allowed to have toasters, heaters, maybe microwaves. because they cant not let you have a lamp or light. and where would you hook up your computer? if for some WEIRD reason they dont allow that.. then you probably shouldnt look at that school. :/ thats just crazy. im 99% sure they mean those things because they can cause fires easily and can use too much power for one room
