17/f and wondering about the shed rate of my hair. I have light brown (natural) hair of normal thickness, and I take good care of it with regards to shampoo, conditioning, air drying, etc. I just don't understand, I know it's winter, but my hair seems to be shedding alot. Every time I shower (every/ every other day), there's a little clot left at my drain. Whenever I brush it, a good pinch accumulates in my brush. Almost every time I run my fingers through it, at least one follicle comes out. Is this normal?
I go to a competitive high-stress prep school, get about 6/7 hours of sleep a night (whatwith work), don't have a current winter sport, and eat healthfully.

I would say if you have excessive amounts of hair coming out, it could be caused by stress.
If it is too bad, you should see your doctor and make sure it isn't caused by an underlying health issue.
