I don't know if my weight is normal, but I'd still like to lose a few pounds here and there. My 'problem areas' are my thighs, calves, and abs. I want them to get skinnier, but I don't want to look muscular either. Any tips on how I can do this? I'd love to do this by at least May (hopefully) but I do want to do it safely too. Thanks!
anyway..the workouts.
well, for calves - i would deffinitly try ankle weights, if you have any. walking around with them during school is great. when you have them on, take bigger steps when you go up the stairs. you will feel the burn!
as for abs - try crunches, pushups, sit ups, etc.
and for thighs - 5-10 minutes of running, jumping jacks, rollerskating, swimming, jogging, walking, etc.
eat healthy! you don't really have to take it to the extreme, but just eating 5 fruits and veggies a day would be excellent for your body.

If you have a younger sibling or cousin or friend that is lighter then you, just play games with them such as superman. [You are spending quality time with them as well as loosing a few pounds] Also you can lift them and put them on your shoulders. Try to do this on a weekly basis at the maximum for 2 hours. More then that can make you muscular. This will help your abs if you put them over your shoulders and go up and down.
Go walking with a friend for a long time but stop here and there maybe to sit down and relax. Bring tons of water and go up tons of hills. That helps your thighs and calves.
Roller skating or ice skating can help, too. This is a lot of fun and it mostly targets every area you want to lose fat in. Bring some friends and you'll have a great time.
Eating healthier can help you indulge food without the worry of weight. Eat fruits, salads, baked chips, vegi's, and nutritional foods. Once in a while, help your self to a nice McD's or BK meal because I'm sure you'll deserve it but don't go overboard.
Dancing with friends can also help loose tons of weight. Have a sleep over at your place or someone elses and turn up the volume and dance like there is no tomorrow! You get to hang out with friends, make some memories, take a few pictures, and loose a few pounds.

If you don't want to pay money crunches, jumping jacks, and speed walking or jogging around the block will definitely work. You should make a plan like 15 crunches when you wake up and 15 in the afternoon everyday, then 20 jumping jacks a day, and do as much walking as you can.
Using the stairs instead of a elevator actually works!!
hope I helped [ Greek_Pimpette13's advice column | Ask Greek_Pimpette13 A Question ]
