okay i would prefer people who have or have had their tongue pierced to answer this...
i've heard it doesn't hurt as much as the clamp, is this true? and on a scale of 1 - 10 how easy is it to hide? alsoo does it swell up to where you can't hide it at all for the first few days? and about how long does it stay swollen? and has anyone had problems with like their teeth chipping because of it or anything like that?

The worst part isn't getting it done- it's afterwards. The sensitive tissue below your tongue gets pretty sore with a ball rubbing on it all the time. That does go away by a week's time.
It stays swollen for a couple days or so. Ice helps.
I suppose some folks have an easy time hiding it, but you will talk funny. I couldn't hide it if I actually wanted to.
Chipping of the teeth is common. Your dentist will be very displeased to see that barbell in your mouth.
