Erase internet history

Question Posted Saturday January 12 2008, 9:45 pm

If I wanted to erase my internet history completely, how would I do that? Not just from going under history then delete, but totally erasing it from the memory of computer.

Oh lord.

Stop telling the 13 year old who wants to stop his parents from seeing the porn he looks at in the history of the computer to buy a product.

Download and install firefox. One of the menu items says "erase private data" and lets you get rid of all of this stuff.

Or, google "erasing internet history from internet explorer" for other instructions.

It'll cost you a bit but when I was in college we used two products one called Cybercide and the other called Cyberscrub. Truly remarkable products. I am sure they offer a trail version too. Read for yourself on how secure these products are. As far as that goes anything you want to get rid of, say you are selling your old PC and have bank account information on the hard drive and you deleted it but are worried someone might access that "deleted" information via software or recovery tools, I highly recommend Cyberscrub and Cybercide. Yes, I used it in college when I was a student worker and I tried myself to access deleted information via software recovery and wasn't able to access anything that was deleted by Cyberscrub. The maximum default setting beyond the DoD standard is the "Guttman."
Cybercide is used for when you are throwing out or selling the hard drive and want to completely erase the drive.
