AngelofMercy answered Tuesday January 8 2008, 4:47 pm: Ivy league schools are the top schools that are offered. They have a stricter curriculum and tighter administrative standards. They are expensive, you have to be a brainiac with a very good transcript, and you have to be extremely dedicated to your education, which leaves little time for people to discover themselves as a person. There are advantages of going to an Ivy League School though, such as, greater job opportunities, higher pay, and more social connections to higher authoritites. So, it just depends on which path in life that someone is wanting to take, if they are career oriented, then they will chose the Ivy League Schools. If they are wanting to learn more about themselves, take life as it comes, not have to know exactly what you want to do in life, then a University of lesser status is the best possiblity for them.
