limited or no connectivity

i have cox internet, but i can use it because my computer says tat it has limited or no connectivity. i only got the router thing they didnt give me a modem are they suppoesed to? and how do i fix my internet all the cables are connected

There are hundreds of things that could be wrong, many of them specific to your particular setup. You should call Cox and have them help you. No one here will be able to.
