Downloading *anything* that you would normally have to pay for is illegal in the US, not just programs. And limewire pro doesn't make it legal. [ theymos's advice column | Ask theymos A Question ]
missbananafontana answered Friday December 14 2007, 8:10 pm: 1. Go to limewire.com.
2. Download the basic package for free, or the premium package for a fee, like $19.95 per month or something like that.
3. When opening the window after you've downloaded it, go to connections tab, and make sure you have at least three outgoing ultra peers. (If you don't know the term ultra peers, go to the FAQ on their site.)
4. If you don't have connections, go to file, then check to see that "connected" is checked. If it is checked and you still have no connection, click disconnect, then connect again. Connections should appear on the screen.
5. You can then go and search for whatever you like (photos, programs, video & audio) on the search tab. Refine you search by limiting it to a certain category.
6. Note: LimeWire is completely legal. But if you download a copyrighted program that would normally cost you, it is no longer legal. However, you have no worries with the law over downloading music or such. : ) [ missbananafontana's advice column | Ask missbananafontana A Question ]
