well since you are a freashman i say you are pretty ahead of the game
i definatly think you will get better when you take higher math and it seems to me that you a relitivly prepared, you just need time. so i wouldn't stress the scores yet. ]
That's not too bad since the PSAT doesn't have the essay. I got a 1520 (or somewhere around that) on my PSAT my sophomore year. The requirements to take it that year were to be 15+ years old and have taken geometry. I was only 14 and hadn't taken geometry yet. I was the underdog and beat my older sister by 10 points (100 when converted).
For your age and how much you've learned you did okay. Once you take geometry &/or algebra 2 you'll do a lot better. Take it again next year and, if your school offers one, take and SAT Prep class. My school has a prep class that we get a credit for taking just like any other class. I took the prep class and the PSAT and did a whole lot better the second time around. I took the SAT immediately after taking the prep class and I got a 1720 on the new SAT. My friend who did the same as I did made a 1940 on her SAT which is REALLY good!
The best suggestion I have is for when you become a junior and it's time to take the SAT. Take the SAT as soon as you can after completing a math or prep class. It's when you'll have the most knowledge and do the best. ]
