I have no idea if it's jealousy, but my friend has been copying like EVERYTHING I do! It's getting on my nerves. She's says she loves to draw anime. She actually draws cartoons. She doesn't really know a thing about anime. She copies my styles, my drawings, my favorite brand of shoes, etc! :'[ (Converse <3) I don't know what to do. This is driving me crazy! She always draws in class and stuff, and shows it off all the time! Whenever she thinks of something to draw, she can magically draw it perfectly in 5 min, like ANYTHING she WANTS to draw. Unless she looks for pictures and copies it in her mind. I don't know, I feel stupid for trying to draw anything I want and it ends up looking like crap. Is there anyway I can become more creative, like her, and start to get into drawing more often? I just want to be able to think of something and being able to draw it while it looks awesome. I also want to think of unique ideas to do. How can I get inspired? She made hearts with paperclips and linked them together, I thought that was kewl. She also can draw anything in like 5-10 min! It could take me an hour or more! I hope you understand what I'm asking/talking about. It may be selfish because I want to be better than her, but she's been doing this since last year. I just want to achieve something, and feel great for actually making/drawing something awesome!!! I want to do something so that she CAN'T copy me.

It's normal to envy someone else's ability to do different things better than you, but you probably have something your fenominal at that she isn't. How 'bout this, just draw whatever you want and if it looks bad, who cares? It's your art, your personal possesions, but if YOU don't like it, draw something else, ore even better, draw whatever you drew again and again until you really like it. Stop worrying about not being as good as somebody else, do everyhting to the best of YOUR ability. And take her "copying" you as a compliment because she obviously liked what you were doing enough to want to do it herself. If you want to be inspired, you have to find that out by drawing and looking at things that you find interesting. And you have achieved something, you've achieved the art of speaking up and asking for advice, and try not to be so jealous, some people just have a natural talent.
