i need to relax.
but im not sure how you meditate.
do you just sit with your legs crossed and do nothing but try to concentrate on getting everything off your mind?
and can you listen to music when you do it?
thanks in advance.
You need to sit in a rigid chair, which has a straight back (if you don't have one, use any chair but not a sofa). Place your feet six inches apart and place your hands on your lap. Take a deep breath and close your eyes. With each breath, imagine all of the fear or worries that you feel inside of you leave with each breath. Keep your head upright. Realx all of the muscels in your face, your back, your hanads, your shoulders; everywhere.
You'll hear a sort of ringing in your ears, don't worry about this, this is silence. Let it penertrate your mind and let it clear all worries. To help your mind concerntrate on the silence, chant a small mantra under your breath like 'Maranatha' (that always helps me).
You'll find it difficult at first, but keep on practising and you'll find that you'll be able to meditate for longer periods of time.
Sorry for the long winded answer but this method really does help.
