To answer your first question - yes. Having sex anywhere near your period is risky, because it is within this time frame that you ovulate.
And, the answer to your second question - yes. It's unlikely, but you are still much better off having a test done to make sure. There is no real foolproof way of knowing if you're pregnant unless A) you're a virgin, or B) you have a test.

I am pregnant, and I had a period during pregnancy. There is a possibility. You should just take a test, especially if your sex was unprotected.
