If you have trouble with ygsgirl's method, or if you want a better interface, use infrarecorder:

It also does audio and video burning.

The person below me did a wonderful job in answering this. Follow her steps and it should work out fine. As far as I know, Media Player isn't able to copy files like that, but her method seems full-proof.

***EDIT***
If you copy the file to My Documents, from there you can copy to a disk.
Highlight it, select "Copy this file" from the menu on the far left, scroll down to your disc drive and select that. (Mine says DVD-RAM Drive (E:), but if your blank disk is in it, it will show that drive as having a writable disk in it.)

So far as I'm aware, you can't copy anything but music to a CD through Media Player.
