How to get him to like me

So I like this guy. While I know that it is impossible to make someone like you, what are some tips to flirt and such?

Catch his eyes and smile or if you see someone you know that you talk normally to talking to him say did you get that math question or if the guys in your class one of them ask what was homework i forgot to write it down(make sure if you did write it down pull out a blank sheet of pare and do it) or go to wikihow.com and it has answers from pro's.

Approach him and act friendly, but not too friendly, otherwise it would seem as if you were flirting. Say 'hi' and that sort of thing and ask some questions, but don't make it seem like an interogation.
A good sign would be if he asked you the same question because that would mean that he's interested in you as a friend and then you can begin a conversation, tell him your hobbies (and ask him what is his and see whether you can relate to him or not).
