kc answered Monday December 3 2007, 7:37 pm: To my knowledge, the only thing that can happen to running shoes when they are washed is them getting clean. I've washed my running shoes a couple of times and they are still in good shape. Putting them in the dryer, however, could shrink them a little bit. To dry them, shove newspaper in them real tight and leave it over night. In the morning take the newspaper out, and they should be dry.
Also, before you wash them, take the inserts out of your shoe, don't want to take a risk of ruining them in any way. [ kc's advice column | Ask kc A Question ]
thelaura answered Monday December 3 2007, 7:35 pm: It depends on the shoe itself. If they're fairly plain and don't have anything on them which could get damaged and aren't, say, suede, then it should be fine. Put them in a pillowcase first. I'd put them in a cool wash. and make sure you dry them properly. [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]
LiTTLEGiRLBLUE answered Monday December 3 2007, 7:24 pm: I think that it depends on the brand. And how cheap the shoe is. If it's Nike the worst thing that could possibly happen is lose some of it's color, and that's only if you don't wash them how you are suppose to. Hoped I Help.
