Hairstyle advice.
Ok, so I'm going to some important presentation in a week and luckily the presentation doesn't have a dress code. I'm going to dress...well I don't know how to put this without sounding like a poser. Um...sorta hardcore? I guess that will do.
And I decided what I want to do is have my top layer of hair really messy, and my bottom layer neat. How would I do this? I tried hairspray and gel and you could easily see the hardness of the gel and the texture in my hair, and I don't want this.

If you use a less agressive gel that doesn't harden so much you can put it in your hair and then lie off you bed so your head is upside down until the gel dries and it looks less goopy. Let gravity do some of the work! I would also use hairspray while it's drying and then do the bottom however neatly you want...

just tease your hair up too have that 'messy look' and hairspray it using "Bed Head hairspray" then mold it. and the bottom layer you have to straighten. i hope i helped :)
