I just bought new computer speakers because I thought my old ones busted. My old ones would be on (the green light would be on), and they were hooked up correctly, just sound wouldnt come out. When I go to the volume control thing, it wont let me open. It says "There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panel, click printers and other hardware, and then click add hardware." Well, I did all of that & It won't find my new speakers. It never came with a CD, so I don't know what to do.
Any help?
(ps. I am not too good with computers, so don't make it too hightech please.}
Expand "sound, video, and game controllers". Your sound card is the one that isn't:
-Audio codecs
-Legacy audio drivers
-Legacy video capture devices
-Media control devices
-Video codecs
Take the brand name of the remaining value, search google, and go to their "downloads" section to download the most recent driver.

your not supposed to install anything... for speakers...
im not too sure at this stage, i just suggest there is something wrong with the wiring, and the electricity is not getting through and converting into sound waves/energy...
