im like a future dermatologist nooo jokee
so basically they jjust have several patients come in a day.
they start out by asking their patient a few quesitons, related to their skin of course.
then after that, it can be different.
when i worked there, the doctor would do full body skin checks on the older people. on the younger people (teenagers), sometimes too, but that would be more about their acne. it depends on what your going in for.
if you have any questions about dermatologists/dermatology askkkk! [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
boxocrackas answered Tuesday November 27 2007, 4:49 pm: Been there many times. He/she basically just asks you a few questions, just like your doctor does. They look at and evaluate your skin and decide whether or not you have mild, mild to moderate, moderate, or moderate to severe acne. Depending on what kind of acne you have and for how long you've had it, they'll put you on some kind of antibiotic pill, as long as your parents agree. I've found the pills to be really helpful - I had terrible acne from about 6th grade to 9th and I went on Accutane (the most extreme acne medication you can get) and it cleared my skin up perfectly. If its not so severe, they'll put you on a medicated cream. They probably will give you a bunch of samples of creams.
But yeah, it doesn't take too long and whatever they'll give you should help. If it doesn't, they'll keep trying to prescribe you something until you find something that works.
Good luck hope I helped :) [ boxocrackas's advice column | Ask boxocrackas A Question ]
