Volleyball2150 answered Saturday November 24 2007, 9:37 pm: my brother had one. It actually went pretty well he said. You just need to be their brother/sister. Learn more about them and see what they like and don't like. Show him/her the american culture but then also find out about his/her culture and try doing that. But I'll have you know that the reason they are even here is to learn about your culture. So its not the best idea to do everything their way. You need to do sorta like a 70 30 compromise. ya?
Show him/her the things a normal teenage american guy/girl would do around this time of year. Have a group of your friends and you 2 do something real fun. If you see a slight mood change in him/her (they start getting bored) then immediately change the atmosphere around you guys and make it more exciting.
Have fun!

PS: if things arn't going the way you plan them to, talk to your parents for help to help him/her be comfortated at your house. Rent movies, gossip, do homework, pig out on junk food.... just like a sleepover with your best buddies. oh and make sure that when he/she leaves... that you 2 are still very close and that he/she doesn't forget about the experience. Try not to make things boring and always exciting! [ Volleyball2150's advice column | Ask Volleyball2150 A Question ]

I would just be nice, understanding, and try to learn some of their cultural events and things too, and dont try to do everything the "American" way
