Affects of birth control on pregnancy tests.

I was wondering if anybody knew what kind of effects that birth control has on home pregnancy tests. Thank you.

Because the pill does not contain hCG (hormone found in pregnant women) and that is the only thing that pregnancy tests test for, it will probably come up as negative. I say probably since I'm assuming that you're not pregnant and on the pill, not pregnant and ON the pill. So, if you're not pregnant and on the pill, and you take a pregnancy test, it will come up negative.

My gyno. told me that birth control can cause false positives. But that's about all I know of.
