The complexity of my mind and suitable schooling possabiliti
Question Posted Monday November 19 2007, 7:07 pm
Sean, my dilemma is so:
Brilliant I am, but unadaptable to any sort of structural situation.
I've been to about 15 highschools and have done about 15 assignments in the amount of time. With a typical teenage outlook enhanced by savante creative capabilities, I am unsure of what to do..
My thoughts are to drop out and start a band, idyllicly with success.
The school I'm going to now is the eppitimy of structure.
I already blew my chance at a charter school.
What should this unconventional girl do, future shrink?
I have a friend who's like you, very intelligent but dosen't do too well with regular public schooling.
Have you thought to try an alternative, work at your own pace type of school? Or is that what a charter is, i'm not sure of the difference.
Or perhaps sought out the help of a tutor to get you up to speed? Or being put in some sort of speciality class for people with the same issues as yourself?
Or even perhaps obtaining your GED? That way at lesat you have some sort of backing going out of high school, instead of just dropping out with nothing saving you in the future.
Just a couple of thoughts. I can identify with the band thing, believe me I would love nothing more than to just drop everything and tour with a band, we all would I think. But the reality is that the likeleyhood of this happening is slim to none. Play it safe, and finish high school any way you can.
