Prom. It's glorious, it's fun, it's a chance to be beautiful. I am 13, have light skin, blue eyes, and dark brown hair. I love to dress up, but I don't know. I can pick a dress myself, and everything, and I know I can't wait for prom, but I think no one will ask me. Do guys usually ask girls to 8th grade proms? It's a small event, but still, it's my first pretty and frilly dance. I am so scared that I'll have no one who'll go with me. That I'll be all by myself, with fat ugly people who no one would dream of dancing with. I don't have a boyfriend, and haven't since 1st grade. (Sad, I know) I am not fat, not ugly, but I am... unique-looking. Let me compare it like this: most of the girls I know are those girls with the tanned skin, HCO or AEO written on their shirts, the kind you would see on "Sports Illustrated". I am that girl with pale skin, bug eyes, am tall, and would be more likely be seen as a high fashion model. I just do not see anyone wanting to go with me to the prom. Help?

Some guys do ask girls to go, however, most people would rather just go with their friends so they are free to dance with whoever they want. I didn't have a date to the 8th Grade Prom, but I did dance with one or two of my guy friends. The world won't end if you don't have a date. Chances are, you'll actually have a lot more fun because you won't be tied down to one person. [ Erinn_the_bamf's advice column | Ask Erinn_the_bamf A Question ]
