You have to use it correctly though and you hair is supposed to feel less damaged and softer. You could go to a salon and get it done. I think you'll feel and see a bigger difference that way since they seem to be more skilled in that area and they may have better products. It works well for damaged hair. My hair was dead and when I went to a beauty school, I came out with soft and very shiny hair. So maybe that's something to consider? You won't see much of a difference with healthy hair unless you put emu oil or jojoba oil mixed with your shampoo every day for some weeks.
Deep conditioners are good & so are leave in conditioners. If you dye your hair yourself, keep the little bottle conditioners. Those are great to use.
You have to use it more than once though. It's not going to give you the soft & shine that you want in little as 2-3 trys. Try treating your hair maybe two times a week. You'll see the improvement. One time I put some conditioner on my hair and wrapped my head in a towel over night. My hair was amazingly soft. [ queenhearts's advice column | Ask queenhearts A Question ]

Leave-in conditioners are a good idea, too. You can get them in any price range. Bed Head has a really nice one but you'll pay around $20 for it. Pantene & Aussie make leave-in conditioners too and you can get them for under $5 at any drugstore. Use them on damp hair & they'll work best.
