what does this song mean?

My favorite song ever is "Are you gonna be my girl?" Its by Jet. I've always wondered what it meant though. Does anyone know??? Thanks in advance!

Well, I always thought it was about a guy who was like hypnotized and obsessed with this beautiful girl, so he wanted her to be his girlfriend. I tried for like 1/2 hour to find some deeper meaning, but I'm pretty sure now that it says what it means. : )
