SIDE EFFECT OF A PERIOD!

Question Posted Saturday November 10 2007, 3:11 pm

Is it true that sometimes one of the side effects of getting your period is breaking out? Becuase I just got mine, and I broke out REALLY bad. My friend says that happens to her, too, sometimes. So I was just wondering if it was...and what I could do to help it. thanks!

hey. yeah i would say that's normal, i break out too.
try getting proactive, i don't know if you've heard of it, but if you have it's deffinately something to look into, it's amazing.
if not, just wash your face with a plain ivory brand soap, one with no perfumes or anything, and use something like witch hazel or clean and clear.
lastly, don't touch your face because all the oils and dirts from your hands will get in your pores and cause you to breakout more.
and i wouldn't pop the breakouts you have because that can cause them to spread.

hope that helped.

It's totally normal to get spots at the time of your period. You can either wait it out, or buy face washes. If you get really bad ones, I'd recommend getting prescribed medicine.
Don't worry about it though.

Yes, that is true and It happens to most girls and even women. Personally, when this happens to me I just try to wash my face more often than normal. I do know of a birth control pill that can prevent breakouts, but I would not reccomend anyone to go on it for just acne. Honestly, you should just relax and remember every girl has to deal with it one time or another.

Yes, unfortunatley it is a side effect :(

Some people don't and some do. I'm one of the ones who does break out and really badly. I went to a dermatolgoist and they gave me medicine so I won't break out and it works really well. So if you're breaking out really bad you may need to see a dermatologist if the stuff you can buy at the store doesn't work.
