In the last year or so Ive been having extremley realistic dreams. I can even feel pain. I remember I had a nightmare of a murderer chasing me and then shoving the "butt" of a rifle into me and it stinging and burning so bad I had to wake myself up. As soon as I woke up the pain was gone. Even last night I had a dream I got into a pickup truck with my friend and the smell of Axe body spray was overwhelming. I felt like I couldnt breathe until I opened a window in the car. Also in my dream I was fixing my hair and it felt sticky, as if I had glue in it or something, so I actually washed it out in my dream and It was gone. My dreams are so realistic I wonder if these things actually happened. Does anyone have any advice on them or any idea why I have such realistic dreams.
BTW: Im 15 & female, if it helps.

But i just found this out when everytime i hear the phone ring no one hears it i tell them to answer it but they give me a weird look...haha so ya idk you just might too. dreams are a powerful thing, but i tried finding out what was wrong but everyone laughs at me.

I can feel pain, taste foods, control everything I do, etc. I only found out a couple of years ago that not everyone could do this. I think it's some form of lucid dreaming, although I don't think that's quite the right term. I've had dreams like this my entire life, even when I was a very little girl, but I know that some people can teach themselves to make their dreams more vivid or to control their dreams. I've heard that only a small percentage of people can do this, which I think is pretty cool. I'm not sure why some people have it and others don't. Occasionally I will have a dream like the ones you describe, but not often. If I were you I would view this ability as something to be proud of, that in your sleeping state your mind can create these intense situations.
However real they are or seem to be in your dreams, it is very doubtful these things are happening in real life. It's often amazing how complex of a scenario the mind can create without conscious input. Some people think that dreams are the way that the "super-subconscious" expresses itself, and that this supersubconcious is more...tuned in/aware/intelligent than our conscious.
Whatever they are or mean, don't worry. If they are not bothering your sleep or regular life than I would not think its a big deal. Really cool, but not worrisome.
I would be interested in hearing more about these dreams though... :]
Oh wait, about the pain thing, it could be kind of like when you see someone get severely hurt, and you feel the pain too in a sense. You don't actually have pain, but you can *feel* it.If that makes sense. [ jediforhire's advice column | Ask jediforhire A Question ]
