It depends on the plan that you have with your phone. I would suggest calling the place where you bought it and asking them that questions and more details on the plan that you have.

yes it costs, unless you have the unlimited internet access plan.
when i go on the internet they charge me by the byte or gigabyte, or something - not by the minute.

you get charged by the minute im pretty sure.
unless you have unlimited internet access with your plan which is usually about $20, i think.
