Homecoming Dress

Question Posted Tuesday October 30 2007, 12:02 am

I am looking for a homecoming dress in dark colors ie deep red, magenta, burgundy, deep blue, etc (not black or white)
I also want the type of dress that would be flowy and ties around your neck like this dress

I really like it, but I wish it was more flowy, because I am afraid it will make me look huge from the side (I am slim)

I really like the fabric and the color on this one

[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

but I don't like the back of it

I am looking for a dress and I don't want to spend more then $200, any specific links. I would appreciate it if I didn't get answers such as go to deb, dillards, nordstroms, gojane, macys, etc I've tried those, and ordering online is not a problem for me

I would highly suggest finding some way to try it on before you buy it! Sometimes something can look great online, and disastrous on you!

And don't be too picky. I have a friend who always does that, and ends up buying something quickly like a day or two before the dance, and ends up looking not so nice.

When I went to prom I had a few guidelines: no strapless, no white, no mermaid style. I tried on a dress that had all three, just to make fun of it for being the opposite of what I wanted... And it looked FANTASTIC on me. I ended up wearing it and getting a ton of compliments.

I guess the basic point of this advice is to not be too picky. Just because a dress isn't exactly what you want, doesn't mean it doesn't work.

I'm sure you'll look fantastic in anything!
