ear infections

i have an ear infection cause i used Q-tips too much and it like affected my ear canal and now theres like a red spot and i went to the doctor and its being treated but why does my ear feel like.. its full and how come when i move my jaw towards the ear that hurts, it hurts? and when i chew food and sometimes when i swallow it hurts. how come the infection is in the ear but its like i can feel it on like a half of my head? is this supposed to happen? and why? thanks.

Your jaw is actually connected up to the bone below your ear. I think that's probably it; that the pain in the ear affected the nerves around that bone and travels down to the jaw. Here's a diagram:
