there is a big high school poetry contest coming up and i want to enter it. I am a pretty good writer, and capable poet but not extremely experienced. If I want to enter it has to be soon, but i can't seem to write anything! I don't need help with what or how to write, I'm just wondering how other people get inspiration? what can i do to jumpstart my creativity!
Let's see . . . sometimes prompts are good. Random words can inspire you. Thinking about what makes you happy, or what makes you sad. Watching a TV show, or the news. Reading a book.

(Time for a change)
I call myself an average girl with a hidden twist
I want many things but cant put my finger on it
My secret twist is yet unknown
Its very hard to find deep within my soul
Many wouldn't understand the personality I hold behind
I feel passion for things that are way beyond the mind
I try telling people about it but cant get my thoughts straight
So much confusion I need one big break
I want people to see the real me
Making them understand is more work times three
I guess I would call myself lost
To regain self control I got to pay the cost
I want to blossom into who I really am
It might be hard and get into a jam
How do I find a solution to a problem that's so strange
Simply enough it's time for change..
