Make sure there are no draughts blowing through the house as that will lower the temperature. Draught excluders will work if there are gaps under doors. You can make them if you have to with some old tights and scraps of material. Seal any gaps in windows, you should be able to find some inexpensive sealer and this will help to save on heating bills.
If there are some rooms you can 'close down' for the winter, shut the doors on them and don't use them again until the weather warms up. Keep to as few rooms as you can manage, then you are not heating more than necessary.
Lag your boiler so that no or little heat escapes from it. Do the same to your pipes. If it gets really cold where you are, this is a good idea anyway as it can stop pipes freezing then bursting, which will cost a fortune to fix.
If you use a fire or other room heater, decide when you are going to bed and turn it off about an hour before. Then you aren't wasting heat on an empty room.
If you have to, try to all sleep in the same room as body heat will help to keep the temperature raised.
Again, if you have to, and don't have double glazing, you could line the windows with clear plastic, it doesn't look great, but it helps to retain heat and it's better than freezing.
Wear lots of layers rather than one big sweater as body heat gets trapped between the layers and keeps you warmer. Keep your feet warm as if they are cold you will feel it more.
Get your family to do some exercises together, this will warm you all up and if you do some silly exercises or games, it'll make you laugh as well.
If things get really bad, you can line bedclothes with paper as this also retains heat. ]
Keep windows and doors shut whenever possible. You might want to do a thorough check around your house for areas where drafts can come in. It might cost a few dollars to get the insulation fixed, but it will save you bunches in heating costs.
Sweaters are good, and blankets as mentioned. Um, using the stove can also heat up the kitchen, but I don't imagine that is cheaper than actual heat and is probably actually more expensive (worth keeping in mind if you're baking or cooking, though).
Moving around and exercising can generate heat. Having multiple people in a room heats it up as well.
The biggest thing really is to check for drafts and keep doors and windows closed, though.
Best of luck.

If you have a fireplace you could get a fire going. Also, you can use electric heating blankets or get really warm, downy, heavy blankets to keep you cozy in the night. Huddling together with your family for warmth works too or sleeping with your dog if you have one. ]
Well , First I suggest selling things that you don't need in life , Such as a computer . Costs lots of money .
Mkay , Well anyways . You could always buy a few more blankets , You can get them cheap at a local thrift store and they cost MUCH much less than heat . ]
