My most recent boyfriend filled my room with one balloon for everyday we had been going out prior to my birthday while I was sleeping. (It helps if you're close to his mom or dad, that way they'll okay the plan and possibly help out) When came in and woke me up, took me to breakfast, then gave me my present.

Thats a little idea if you want to do something sweet.

For the actual present, why not get him a hat of his favorite sports team? Fill the hat with his favorite band's CD, his favorite candy, a poem or love note written by you, and a small framed picture of the two of you. Its a cute and personal gift that shows him you pay attention to his favorite items.

Good Luck! <3

You could always just get him a shirt or sweatshirt with one of his favorite teams, if he's that into sports. As for a personal gift to go with it, you could put together a scrapbook of pictures and memories with him, or a book on 100 reasons you love him. Anything that he knows you took a long time making for him, he would love. (:
