mono? my brother got mono about a month or 2 ago. recently my throat has been really hurting. i lose my voice off and on, and sometimes its really scratchy. it hurts to swallow and sometimes talk. also, i get bad headaches and dizzy, and sometime i get SUPER hot, and then the next minute FREEZING cold. my head is always hot and my face is always red, and my mom said i felt "clammy". i also have like no energy, the past 3 days when i get home i just lay down or sleep. there is a lot of viruses and colds going around at my school and neighborhood, and normally i would just think it was a bad cold, but the fact the my brother has mono makes me think i might. i dont want to waste my parents money or get my blood taken if i dont have it, so does that sound like the symptoms? when i ask my brother he says that kind of sounds like it, but everyone is different, and he cant exactly remember since its been awhile since he first got it. thanks :]

so if any of your symptoms sound like that i would go see a doctor. ]
Well, considering you run the risk of having mononucleosis from your brother, then you should probably bite the bullet and have yourself tested.
Check out this link about symptoms: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
Some symptoms listed are headache, severe fatigue, sore throat, fever followed by chills, etc.
"Mononucleosis and its symptoms
In mononucleosis, the virus is passed via the salvia of an infected person, hence the name, the kissing disease. But kissing isn't the only way you can get it. Sharing a straw, a glass or other eating utensils are possible ways to get mono, according to FDA. On occasion being very close to an infected person when they cough or sneeze can also put you at risk. You won't know right away if you have mono though, because the incubation period (that's the time from infection to symptoms) is 4 to 7 weeks, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP)."

So you could have very easily caught it from your brother.
