Hopefully I will be getting a tattoo in a few weeks. I really, really want it, so no lectures on, "Remember, this is a permanent choice." I'm pretty good at dealing with pain. (I got my nose pierced) I KNOW a tattoo will hurt somewhat but I don't want to feel like I'm dying. I want to get a small/medium sized rose on my calf. (leg) It could take an hour or more, and I definitely don't want to be in EXCRUCIATING pain for that long, but I really want the tattoo.
Has anyone gotten a tattoo? if so, could you describe what it feels like and how much it hurts?

All I will say is don't put names on your body (exception being your children's name's) and make sure it isn't something you will hate in the future. But I wager you know all that already. :)
I got one on my shoulder blade. Mine took 35 minutes. It wasn't bad at all, but I can't tell you what it would be like on your calf.
I know at some points, she hit a more tender area that kinda hurt, but for the most part, it just felt like vibration going across my skin.
I just wish I would have brought a book along. I about went nuts having to sit still and do nothing for that period of time.
So, you may want to bring along a good book, magazine, or something to keep you entertained that doesn't require moving around. I wouldn't suggest taking something you have to listen to with ear phones, because they may have important things to say to you, or instructions you need to hear.
