what should i do about chad?!
hi..lets call me jane...okay so im like obsessively in like with my best guy friend, lets call him chad. okay so my best girl friend lets call her...well her names sam. okay so i told sam that i told chad i liked him and she was like OMG RLY? YAY so then she messaged chad on myspace and was like "omg jane told you she liked you!?!?!?" but hes not on right now..the thing is I NEVER REALLY TOLD CHAD! what do i do?! do i lie and make up a story saying that i was joking or do i actually tell him? thing is-- im POSITIVE he doesnt like me.

Tell the truth. It's always better to, becides, you don't know he doesn't like you because guys lie. Even if he looks you straight in the face and tells you he thinks you're a hideous disease and he doesn't like you, he could be madly in love with you.

The thing is, you shouldn't lie.. because it always causes problems and drama. If you say you are joking, it could actually offend him. I mean, if it means anything to him he would talk to "Sam" or confront you about it. He may feel awkward about it so he may not speak to you. And there's always a chance he may like you back so saying you were joking would defeat the whole thing.
You can say you have a little crush on him, if he's not responding in a way you like. Just so he's not "OMG she likes me. -hides-"
Don't take it so seriously either. Just act like you never told your best friend anything and that she never told him. Just be cool about it and think he doesn't know. You really don't want to worry about it.
If he's curious whether it's true or not, he will speak to you. And if you do choose to tell him the truth, just make it a simple crush not one of those "I LOVE YOU!" kind of approaches.

Well first off I do not think you should have ever told your bff that you told "chad" that you liked him if you never told him.....but there are several way to handle this, you could always hurry up and message him and tell him that you like him, you could tell sam that you were kidding but you were seriously thinking about it....you could not do anything wait until tomorrow and be like what i never said i told him i like him...then tell him something like but i really do like you!, There are several way you can approch this but, you need to choose how honest or cool you wanna play this, but it is kind of a sticky situation! don't lie & make up a story, because even if you are positive he doesn't like you; he could always change his mind. doing that would probably make it even more awkward.
i don't know how old you are, but my friends always used to tell me "it's not 2nd grade anymore, you don't have to hide who you like"
so just tell him. if you don't think you call flatout tell him that you like him, just say you used to like him, but you don't anymoree. ahaha, trust me it works everytime. (:
