Hi.
I got a cockatiel, maybe, 4 or 5 weeks ago. He sleeps in one of the 3 food dishes (2 have food and the other has water) It kinda concerns me, for the birds comfort and health. Should I let him sleep in his food or should i put like fabric in somewhere? The guy at the pet store didnt mention anything, so my mom and i are kinda confused.Oh yeah and one more thing, its small and yellow/gray and a little red on the cheeks that makes it a cockatiel right? or would it be a cockatoo??

If you don't have perches in the cage put some in.
Mine always sleep on those.
If it seems okay otherwise though, its probably fine.Call a vets office and ask if its normal behavior, they can tell you that for free on the phone. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
