my dad has always hated dogs, but I am an only child with no mother in a tiny neighborhood! Should I ask for a dog or a goldfish?

Dogs can be hard to handle by yourself, but then again goldfish can die easy and you can't run around with them. You should ask your dad at a calm time if it would be ok for you to get a pet. Then ask him about what kind and why you would like one. A pet could be good for the both of you. (you could add that)
