How do i convince him Im not crazy??

I've been seeing this guy around school a lot lately. He's so fine. I know that seems shallow and everything but I could not stop thinking about him. So last week I went home and looked him up in the yearbook. I'm a sophmore and he's a junior so I knew where to find him when I looked up his picture.
When I finally found him I realized who the guy actually was. I already know him....he's friends with my ex and I met him through my ex before. I couldn't believe it because he dyed his hair over the summer and let it grow out...long story short he looks nothing like he did last year.
So that night I went to my ex's myspace page and found him and added him to my friends list. He sent me a message asking who I was and once I told him he remembered me and we messaged each other back and forth for a while.
I found myself CONSTANTLY going to his locker..walking by his table at lunch...finding out every where he hangs out...it was crazy.
I told one of my friends i liked him the other day and she went up to him and started to cause a scene shouting "IS THIS HIM??" "IS THIS THE GUY YOU LIKE???" I almost died...
So since then I haven't seen him much....he's been avoiding me and telling all of his friends that I'm his stalker!!! I've never wanted to get with a guy so badly before. What should I do to make him see that Im a normal girl who just wants to get to know him better??
