Braces I'm currently in the process of getting braces. I've had spacers in for the last week and yesterday I went in and they took the bottem spacers out and glued these metal bands around my teeth (they said those were the things that were attached to the braces?) Anyway, those metal things are cutting into my tongue really bad. Is it something I just have to get used to or did the nice lady doing my teeth screw up?

Sounds pretty normal to me. When you first get them on and every time you get them readjusted, it can be quite painful and uncomfortable. Next time you visit your orthodontist, ask her what you can do about it. If you got given the wax strips, they help a little.
Hope you stop hurting soon! :) ]
My friends complained about this too. The only thing you can really do is go back to the orthodontist- and ask for wax. This wax will go on the metal , so it will not rub on your tounge.
Hope I helped,and good luck! ]
