For the past 3 months or possibly even longer, I've been noticing random bruises on my arms, I'm not sure if they're bruises i's just what they look like, but they're smaller and more purple. They don't hurt either, and I won't see it one hour then two hours later i have a bruise and I know for certain that I never hit that area. Plus, the bruises are always on the under sides of my upper arm, the part that's covered when you have you're arms at your side, or you see when you tie your hair in the mirror. I'll have one on one spot, and then the next day I have it on the next arm. It's happened more then once and they last 2 weeks to a full month. So what I'm wondering is is this a medical condition type thing or what? It's bothering me because I have people thinking my boyfriend gets aggressive and grabs me too tightly. Sorry it was so long, I was trying to be more specific rather than vague.
It could be forms of low vitamin levels orrr...
I had a friend who's sister had the same thing.. bruises in weird places for no reason... and it ended up that she had leukemia (bone marrow cancer).
thelaura answered Wednesday September 19 2007, 7:57 am: I get random bruises too. However, I'm pretty positive as to why I have mine - I'm small, thin, rather pasty, hardly get any sleep, crappy immune system, and have the symptoms of anemia.
So that could be one of the problems. You may be anemic.
Others could be:
*iron deficiency.
*Vitamin K deficiency.
*You can do it in your sleep (it's quite common actually)
*Could be due to medications if you're taking any.
I could go on for a while, but it's pretty pointless, because we aren't doctors who can give a proper diagnosis.
With all symptoms, something small can turn into something pretty serious.
If it happens more, go to your doctor.
Get diagnosed and put your mind at ease. [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]
