File -> New Smart Playlist.

Then edit the parameters to make it Date Added is within the last X number of days, or whatever you want. You can name it anything you want, too.

So if you wanted your recently added playlist to actually be called "Amazing Radioactive Pink Monkeys Destroyed the Planet and Stole My Pizza Rolls", you've got the power to do so.

Well, there are really two options.

1) Use a inexpensive or free data recovery application ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location)),

2) Request the services of a data recovery firm.
