spot treatment

Question Posted Monday September 17 2007, 2:46 pm

I don't have a problem with acne but I usually have 2 or 3 stubborn pimples, and I just need a really effective spot treatment. Any recommendations that I could purchase at a store (price doesn't matter) would be appreciated!

The ProActiv "Refining Mask" works amazing at spot treatment. I get some stubborn pimples too, and if you put this stuff on them before you go to sleep and leave it there over night, the next morning they will be MUCH less red and smaller. You don't even need to use it with the whole ProActiv line and you can buy 12oz. tubes of them in mall kiosks.

My favorite spot treatment involves an aspirin and a lemon. Crush an aspirin until in forms a fine powder and mix it with pure lemon juice until it forms a semi-thick paste. Apply the paste to each individual pimple and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water afterward. Do that maybe two or three times a day and your skin should be clear within 1-2 days.

There are many different choices to choose from in OTC acne medications. I believe that your best bet is a high strength (10-15%) salicylic acid topical cream. These types of medication are generally not very expensive either.
