Question Posted Thursday September 13 2007, 6:55 pm

hey, this is the girl who has the anxiety attacks. well, i had a personal question...hope you don't mind. so, im in highschool, and on wednesday(sp?), i was coming out of my 8th period class to go to my 9th, the class i MOST hate. i guess i was pretty nervous, because next thing i know, i can't breathe. my 8th period teacher was outside with his best friend [and i happen to have a small crush on both of them], but i retired to a corner to hide my frustration. could i have subconsciously gotten this one to get attention or something? is that what they all are, or am i really sick?? again, i hope you don't mind, and i'm sorry for bothering.

I wouldn't say you were sick. Its more a mental thing really. I don't mean you are mentally ill either, don't get the wrong idea. :)

A panic attack can be brought on by
fear or by being nervous about something.
Its still best to see a doctor about it
simply because other illness can cause the
same symptoms. While you probably are just
having panic attacks, its always better to
know for sure so they can be treated. It
can get out of control in some people
making them not want to leave the house
or do other things a normal teen wants to do.

I don't think this is you trying to get attention.
You hid after all so you wouldn't be seen.

Good luck with this. Its not all that
uncommon and you certainly aren't alone in
having panic attacks. Here is a link that
might explain it better than me. :)
