DearAbby92 answered Wednesday September 12 2007, 5:15 pm: On the price, it depends what nail salon you go to. The lowest I've seen is fifteen for a set and the highest I've seen is 30. Then again, Im not going to the spa to get my nails done, just a small salon.
They recommend you get your nails filled every two weeks, but that can vary slightly due to how fast your nails grow, how long the polish stands up, and if you do things like biting your nails or not.
When you get a refill, its to fill in the gaps where your nail grew and pushed the acrylic part up. The manicurist will take a brush, dip it in acrylic, and sort of paint over your nail, filling in the gap and strengthing the acrylic on the rest of your nail. Then that dries and they paint your nails :)

When I had nails I paid around 23.00-26.00 Make sure you dont pay too little, you should steer away from places that have full sets and fills for very little money, not just for health reasons but because you want good service. As for how often, it depends on how your nails grow, they usually suggest 1 1/2-2 weeks or until your real nail starts to show. When you have acrylic nails on, your real nail is growing out and it creates a gap between where the bottom of your real nail and the acrylic nail. You will be able to tell when they need a fill. I also suggest gettin UV-gel nails, they are similar to acrylic but they last a lot longer and don't break or fall off, there a little more costly but def. worth it! They also don't wreck your real nail as much as acrylics do.
