I just started taking paxil today. I know with antidepressants, there is a risk of weight gain. And this might sound stupid, but do you gain weight because the drug makes you want to eat more or is it something like retaining water? Thank you.
LM answered Saturday September 8 2007, 10:42 pm: It's different for everyone. I know more about Zoloft, but I assume they're similar. Another side effect is weight LOSS. I don't think the changes are usually that significant. It's not guaranteed to happen, it's just on there as a precaution. A lot of prescriptions have that, I think it's your body's way of adjusting to it.
If you find yourself expereincing side effects, your doctor can help you out by adjusting dosages and such. He'll know a lot more than we will.
