Can someone give me some tips about ironing? I'm going to a catholic school this year so i have to iron all my clothes but I went over them like 20 times and there's still wrinkles!

If you're ironing regular clothes (like, not delicate things) make sure the temperature's high enough, cotton sturdy or something like that. If your iron can make steam (most if not all can) make sure there's water in it- steam really does help. Go slowly but never stop moving the iron! Go about the same speed as you would straighten your hair. If you dry your clothes in the dryer first, take them out when they're still warm, otherwise as they cool they'll press in wrinkles. Airdrying, tug on the shirt a little after you put it on the hanger. Fold the collars of shirts down the way you want them to look, and unroll the hems of skirts & pants if they folded up. I'm assuming you're using an ironing board. Sometimes putting a clean, folded towel on top of the board (under the clothes though) helps make the fabric smoother. And if you have to use a table, the towel will protect the finish. If your clothes aren't coming out perfectly at first, don't worry. You'll get better with practice =]

You'd have to just go to like your local supermarket and go down the isle with laundry stuff and I'm sure you'll find it. [ cheifbritneeilu's advice column | Ask cheifbritneeilu A Question ]
