good makeup

Question Posted Sunday September 2 2007, 1:09 am

My face gets red spots all over and just has a lot of redness ever since I got acne and had to take medicines for it. My makeup wears off really fast since my face get's oily but it's also dry in some areas so it looks all flaky. I hate the way my skin looks, what are some good brands of cover up? I'm using prescriptives right now and it's just not working for me.

First of all, you need a good skincare routine- cleanser, toner, moisturizer, treatment.

Almay has products that should work for you:

After cleansing, toning and moisturizing (do this twice a day) apply your topical medication (if you have any) and then makeup.

Start with a concealer for blemishes and undereye circles:

Next, apply foundation with a sponge:

If you don't like using liquid foundation, try this:

Then set it with a powder, using a powder brush:

This may sound like a lot of makeup to you, but it is easy to apply and looks natural.
This book also has skincare and makeup routines for combination skin:

I couldn't find in on Amazon.com but most bookstores should have it.

Good luck!

I also have combination skin, and what has worked best for me is moisturizing with an oil-free moisturizer in the morning. First, dab on with a sponge or tissue Neutragena oil free, acne clearing coverup. (found at any CVS or Walgreens) Over that, apply Clinique powder foundation, especially in your oil prone areas. (you can find a clinique store in any department store at your local mall)

The liquid coverup should prevent your skin from being dry and the powder should help keep the oil away. Need more brands? Inbox me. hope i helped!
